Natyarangam, the dance wing of Narada Gana Sabha- the premier cultural organization at Chennai, organizes a three day annual dance camp for young dance teachers and performers at Thennangur around 100kms from Chennai. This camp has attained special status for its extraordinary quality. Shridhar & Anuradha have been invited as faculty for Satvikabhinayam & Angikabhinayam for this year’s camp. They had the privilege of participating along with doyens like Padmabhushan Prof.C.V.Chandrasekhar ( Angika & Aharyabhinayam ), Dr.Sudha Seshayyan (Literature), Vid.Aleppy Venkateshan ( Music ), Dr.Gowri Ramnarayan ( Aesthetics in Dance ). Shridhar’s talk on the relationship between Indian philosophy and Classical dance, the Rasa theory as expounded by Bharata, the concept of Sattva in abhinayam were highly appreciated for it’s scholarly delineation. Shridhar & Anuradha’s demonstration drew standing ovation from the participants.
