Performers, choreographers, scholars, Shridhar and Anuradha, have emerged as dancers par excellence in Bharatanatyam today. A fine blend of classical rigor, and technical virtuosity characterizes their dance.

Shridhars' received their initial training in Bharatanatyam from Guru Smt. Radha Sridhar. They were later nurtured in the Kalakshetra style  by Guru Sri. M.R. Krishnamurthy and Guru Smt. Krishnaveni Lakshmanan. Anuradha graduated from Kalakshetra, Chennai with distinction. Shridhar has a degree in Engineering.

 

The couple have individuated themselves by a passion for perfection, vibrant nritta and a sophisticated sense of abhinayam. The poise with which they express emotional states ranging from highly spirited to profoundly introspective has been highly appreciated. An intelligent involvement with the art and fierce dedication has placed them among the foremost dancers in the country today.

Without compromising the essential aesthetics of Bharatanatyam, Shridhars' have with great dexterity, depth of understanding, woven into the fabric of their dance, episodes from epics  and great literary works that highlight  human emotional conflicts,  and spiritual values of  life. Their dance features like the Ramayanam, Mahabharatam, Kumarasambhavam,  Bharata Sapatham, Dhritarashtra Vilapam, Karnataka Vaggeya Vaibhava, Samyak Jnanam (Jainism), Naathicharavaha etc., have received international acclaim.

Shridhars' have performed for  most of the prestigious sabhas in India like the Madras Music Academy, Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Narada Gana Sabha, Karthik Fine Arts, Bharat Kalachar- all in Chennai, Sangeeth Natak Academy (Delhi), the Rajbhavan, ICCR, IISc Bangalore and in festivals like Kinkini, Nitya Nritya, Hampi, Pattadakal, Dharani, Thaalam etc,

Shridhars' have received high accolades for their performances in USA, France, Germany, Switzerland, UK, Singapore, Kenya, and the Gulf countries.

Shridhars' are highly acclaimed for their scholarship & didactic knowledge. They have conceptualized and directed an educational work on the appreciation of Bharatanatyam titled "RASASWADA" in the form of a DVD produced by the Karnataka Sangita Nritya Academy.
               

TEACHING

To pass on the rich legacy, they have received from great gurus, they have established "Khechara Academy of Bharatanatyam". Here they train disciples in the achievement of true classical excellence.
